It is an unforgettable experience through the heart of Georgia, a country where history, culture and nature meet in perfect harmony. This 9-day itinerary will take you from the vibrant capital Tbilisi to the most enchanting and least explored corners, such as Ushguli, the highest inhabited settlement in Europe, and the magical coastal city of Batumi. Discover the antiquity of Mtskheta, explore the fascinating caves of Uplistsikhe, marvel at the impressive mountain landscapes of Svaneti, and relax in the green hills of Borjomi, home to famous mineral waters. This trip is designed to captivate all your senses, with visits to local wineries, historic monasteries, and breathtaking views.

The journey begins with a comfortable transfer from the airport to Tbilisi, where you will have the opportunity to discover its unique charm on a guided tour in Spanish. From there, the itinerary leads to the treasures of Mtskheta, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and to the cave city of Uplistsikhe. In Kutaisi, you will explore its historic cathedral before immersing yourself in the mountains of Svaneti, enjoying unparalleled landscapes in Mestia and Ushguli. The second part of the trip includes a relaxing stay in modern Batumi, known for its beaches and botanical gardens, and culminates with a visit to Vardzia, an impressive rock-carved monastery complex. This itinerary is perfect for those looking to combine history, adventure and natural beauty in a single journey.

Day 1 - Transfer from Tbilisi Airport to the Capital

Rustaveli Avenue

Avenida Rustaveli Rustaveli Avenue, the main artery of Tbilisi, stretches 1.5 kilometres from Freedom Square to Republic Square. This iconic street, named after the medieval poet Shota Rustaveli, is home to the city's most prestigious buildings, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera House and the National Museum, all built in neoclassical and Art Nouveau style during the 19th century. During our stroll, we will enjoy the vibrant Georgian cultural life, stop at its elegant historic cafés and admire the monumental architecture as we explore the numerous shops and art galleries.

Metekhi Square

Plaza de Metekhi Metekhi Square, one of the most emblematic historic sites in Tbilisi, rises on a cliff with privileged views of the Mtkvari river. This landmark is dominated by the 13th-century church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city. The square was for centuries the home of the royal palace, establishing itself as a strategic and cultural centre. Although the original church was built in the 5th century, the structure we can admire today is a 13th-century reconstruction. During our tour, we will delight in the stunning panoramic views of the old city and the famous bathhouse district. We will also explore the Metekhi church and delve into the fascinating history of the king who, with his vision, established Tbilisi as the capital of Georgia.

Narikala Fortress

Fortaleza Narikala Narikala Fortress, the iconic symbol of Tbilisi, has dominated the city's skyline since the 4th century. This ancient citadel, originally Persian and later expanded by Arabs and Georgians, rises on a steep hill overlooking the Mtkvari river and the old city. Its imposing walls and towers have witnessed the various civilisations that have ruled Georgia, including the reconstructed Church of St Nicholas from the 12th century. During our visit, we will take the cable car up to the fortress, walk along its ancient defensive walls and capture stunning panoramic views of Tbilisi as the sun sets over the city.

Abanotubani

Abanotubani Abanotubani, the historic sulphur bathhouse district in the heart of old Tbilisi, represents the original core where the Georgian capital was founded. Located on the right bank of the Mtkvari river, this neighbourhood is famous for its characteristic sulphur baths with brick domes emerging from the ground, bearing witness to over 1,500 years of history. The natural thermal waters that spring from the earth maintain a constant temperature of 37–40°C, and their healing properties have attracted illustrious visitors such as Alexander Pushkin and Alexandre Dumas. During our visit, we will wander through these streets of legendary thermal waters and get lost in the picturesque medieval alleyways that wind between the baths, breathing in the most authentic spirit of ancient Tbilisi.  

Anchiskhati

Anchiskhati The Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, is a vital testament to Georgia's Christian history since the 6th century. Located in the heart of the old city, this sandstone church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, takes its name from the miraculous icon of Christ (Anchiskhati) it housed for centuries. Its three-nave basilica architecture, typically Georgian, is complemented by medieval frescoes and a 17th-century bell tower. During our exploration, we will experience the mystical atmosphere of the temple, listen to the ancient Georgian polyphonic chanting that still resonates in its walls and admire the craftsmanship of its traditional icons.  

Day 3 - Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Kutaisi

Jvari - Monastery of the Cross

Djvari - Monasterio de la cruz The Jvari Monastery, known as the "Monastery of the Cross", is an iconic religious site located near Mtskheta, Georgia, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 6th century on a hilltop, this monastery offers stunning panoramic views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Considered a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture, it is a sacred place symbolising the adoption of Christianity in Georgia. During our visit, we will explore its unique architectural design, enjoy the spectacular views and learn about its deep historical and spiritual significance. Road 13KM 0 Hours and 18 Minutes

Svetitskhoveli

Svetitskhoveli Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, located in the ancient capital of Mtskheta, represents the spiritual heart of Georgia and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. This majestic 11th-century cathedral, built on the spot where Christ's robe is said to be buried, is an extraordinary example of medieval Georgian architecture, with its tall decorated stone facade, central dome and historic frescoes. During our exploration, we will discover the many legends surrounding this sacred place, admire the extraordinary ecclesiastical architecture and witness the ancient religious traditions that still live on in this spiritual centre. Uplistsikhe

Uplistsikhe Located in the Kartli region of central Georgia, Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-carved cave city dating back to the first millennium BC. This extraordinary archaeological complex, considered one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus, was an important religious and commercial centre on the historic Silk Road. Its architectural structures include pagan temples, Christian basilicas and civic buildings that reflect the unique fusion of Christian and pagan styles. The city is notable for its street system, secret tunnels and an exceptionally well-preserved Roman theatre. During our visit we will explore the ancient wine cellars, walk through stone-carved alleyways and marvel at the panoramic views of the Mtkvari river from the top of this natural acropolis, journeying through over 3,000 years of Caucasian history. Stalin Museum

Museo de Stalin The Stalin Museum in Gori, birthplace of the controversial Soviet leader, is one of the last museums in the world dedicated to Josef Stalin. The complex includes the original birthplace, a Soviet palace-style building and Stalin's personal railway carriage. The exhibition holds an extensive collection of personal belongings, photographs, historical documents and Stalin's original death mask. During our visit, we will explore the rooms documenting Stalin's life from his youth in Georgia to his Soviet leadership, examine his armoured luxury railway carriage and reflect on the complex historical legacy he left in the region. Ushguli

Ushguli Perched at 2,200 metres above sea level, Ushguli stands as one of the highest permanently inhabited settlements in Europe, located in the remote region of Svaneti, Georgia. This cluster of medieval villages, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, captivates with over 20 defensive stone towers from the 12th century – characteristic symbols of Svan architecture that rise majestically against the backdrop of Mount Shkhara, Georgia's highest peak. The village preserves intact the traditions, language and customs of the ancient Svan culture, defying the passage of time. During our exploration, we will stay in traditional local guesthouses, hike to the Shkhara glacier, photograph the stunning sunrise over the medieval towers and share unique moments with the inhabitants of this community that keeps the spirit of ancient Svaneti alive.  

Day 5 - Mestia - Zugdidi - Dendrological Park - Batumi

Dadiani Palace

Palacio de los Dadianis Dadiani Palace, located in Zugdidi, Georgia, is a magnificent historic complex that served as the residence of the Dadiani family, rulers of Samegrelo. Built in the 19th century, this palace combines European and Georgian architectural elements. Today it houses the Museum of History and Architecture, which displays unique artefacts including Napoleon Bonaparte's death mask. Surrounded by lush gardens, this site is a testament to the cultural splendour of the region. During our visit we will walk through its elegant halls, explore its art and historic artefact collection and enjoy the gardens surrounding this impressive palace. Road 83KM 1 Hour and 25 Minutes

Shekvetili Dendrological Park

Parque dendrógico de Shekvetili The Shekvetili Dendrological Park is located on the Black Sea coast in the Guria region of Georgia, representing one of the most innovative and modern botanical gardens in the Caucasus. This fascinating green space, opened in 2020, covers 60 hectares of land where more than 200 exotic plant species are displayed in various microclimates and themed settings. The park features a state-of-the-art tropical greenhouse, Japanese gardens and an impressive collection of giant bamboo and palm trees. During our tour, we will marvel at the elevated walkways through the treetops, explore Georgia's largest hedge maze and enjoy panoramic views from the observation tower overlooking the entire botanical complex. Batumi

BatumiLocated on the Black Sea coast, Batumi is Georgia's second-largest city and the capital of the Adjara region, standing out as an important seaport and tourist destination in the Caucasus. This vibrant city combines a rich history dating back to the 4th century BC with striking contemporary architecture, where futuristic buildings intertwine with elegant 19th-century constructions. The Batumi Boulevard, a 7-kilometre seafront promenade, is the heart of the city, while its old town charms with cobblestone alleys and traditional Georgian balconies. During our visit, we will stroll along the lively seaside boulevard, enjoy Adjaran cuisine at traditional restaurants and marvel at the light and music show of the Dancing Fountains – a unique experience combining modernity with old-world charm. In its welcoming atmosphere, Borjgalo is the ideal place to discover the essence of Georgian life. During our visit we will explore the detailed sculptures, learn about Georgia's ancestral traditions and immerse ourselves in the cultural richness that makes this museum a unique place. "

Gonio Fortress

Fortaleza de Gonio Gonio Fortress, located near the Black Sea coast a few kilometres from Batumi, Georgia, is a historically significant monument. Built during the Roman era, this fortification dates from the 1st century AD and is considered one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country. Famous for its defensive design and its connection to the Silk Road, Gonio also harbours legends related to the tomb of the Apostle Matthias, making it a blend of history and myth. During our visit we will walk along its ancient walls, explore the archaeological museum and discover the mysteries and legends surrounding this fascinating destination on the Black Sea.

Day 7 - Batumi - Winery - Borjomi - Akhaltsikhe

Baia's Wine Winery

Bodega Baia´s wine In the heart of Georgia's Imereti wine region, Baia's Wine represents the perfect fusion of millennia-old tradition and modern winemaking. This family winery, run by the charismatic Baia Abuladze, has become a benchmark for natural wine production using the traditional Georgian method in qvevri (buried clay amphorae), a technique with 8,000 years of history recognised by UNESCO. Its organic vineyards cultivate indigenous varieties such as Tsolikouri, Krakhuna and Tsitska in mineral-rich soils. During our experience, we will take part in an intimate tasting of their exceptional natural wines, learn about the ancient qvevri winemaking process and enjoy genuine Georgian hospitality accompanied by traditional dishes from Imereti.  

Borjomi

Bordjomi Nestled in the picturesque Mtkvari valley in central Georgia, Borjomi is a legendary spa destination world-renowned for its healing mineral waters, which naturally spring hot from the depths of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. This elegant resort town, which reached its peak during the Russian tsarist era of the 19th century, preserves magnificent imperial-style mansions and extensive historic parks. Its mineral water, bottled since 1890, is considered a Georgian national treasure and has been prized for centuries for its medicinal properties. During our stay, we will stroll through the romantic Mineral Park, taste the thermal waters directly from the historic springs and explore the pristine trails of the national park, one of the largest in Europe.  

Day 8 - Akhaltsikhe - Vardzia - Khertvisi - Tbilisi

Vardzia

Vardzia Carved into the vertical face of Mount Erusheli, Vardzia emerges as a stunning 12th-century rock-hewn monastery city, a symbol of the cultural peak of medieval Georgia during the reign of Queen Tamar. This monastic complex extends over 500 metres and reaches up to 19 levels, housing more than 600 rooms including churches, wine cellars, libraries and an intricate system of tunnels and irrigation. The site is especially notable for the Church of the Dormition, which preserves exceptional 12th-century frescoes, including a famous portrait of Queen Tamar. During our exploration, we will walk through the secret tunnels and staircases connecting the different chambers, discover ancient wine cellars and marvel at the medieval frescoes that have survived earthquakes and centuries of history in this architectural jewel carved from rock.

Khertvisi Fortress

Fortaleza Khertvisi Khertvisi Fortress, situated in the Samtskhe-Javakheti valley, Georgia, is one of the oldest fortresses in the country, with origins dating back to the 2nd century BC. Strategically positioned at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Paravani rivers, it was an important defence during the medieval period and a key point on the Silk Road. Its imposing walls, towers and panoramic views of the valley make it a symbol of the region's historical resilience. During our visit we will explore the well-preserved structures, climb the towers to admire the landscape and immerse ourselves in the stories that make Khertvisi a place full of charm and history.
