Georgia

Georgia is at the heart of our work and of this section. We live in Tbilisi, we have been organising trips across the country since 2018, and here we gather what we have learned on the road: the routes climbing to Kazbegi and the towers of Svaneti, the rock-hewn monasteries of Vardzia and David Gareja, the Kakheti vineyards where wine still ferments in buried clay vessels, and Tbilisi itself, chaotic and charming, with its wooden balconies and sulphur baths.

In these articles you will find guides to specific places — cathedrals, fortresses, cave cities, national parks — as well as the context that makes them meaningful: why Georgia was among the first Christian countries in the world, or what the Silk Road meant for its cities. Many pieces grew out of real questions from our travellers.

And if reading makes you want to see it in person, every place we write about features in one of our Georgia tours: private itineraries we adapt to your dates and pace.
