This 9-day itinerary will take you from the captivating capital, Tbilisi, to the charming Black Sea coast in Batumi, exploring iconic sites such as the Davit Gareji Monastery, the cave city of Uplistsikhe, and the majestic Bagrati Cathedral. Whether you are passionate about architecture, natural scenery, or Georgian wine, this tour is designed to offer you a complete and unforgettable experience. You will begin in Tbilisi, with a guided tour that will immerse you in its blend of old and new. Then you will discover destinations such as Signagui, the "City of Love", and the gems of the Imereti region, including the monasteries of Gelati and Motsameta, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Batumi, you will enjoy its beaches and botanical gardens, while on the way back to Tbilisi you will explore the stunning Dendrological Park and a traditional Georgian winery. Every day you will immerse yourself in the cultural and natural richness of Georgia, ensuring unique memories and breathtaking views at every turn.

Day 1 - Transfer from Tbilisi Airport to the capital

Day 2 - Tbilisi - Guided city tour

Rustaveli Avenue

Avenida Rustaveli Rustaveli Avenue, the main artery of Tbilisi, stretches 1.5 kilometres from Freedom Square to Republic Square. This iconic street, named after the medieval poet Shota Rustaveli, is home to the city's most prestigious buildings, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera Theatre, and the National Museum, all built in Neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles during the 19th century. During our stroll, we will enjoy the vibrant Georgian cultural life, stop at its elegant historic cafés, and admire the monumental architecture while exploring the many shops and art galleries.  

Metekhi Square

Plaza de Metekhi Metekhi Square, one of the most iconic historic spots in Tbilisi, rises above a cliff with sweeping views of the Mtkvari river. This landmark is dominated by the 13th-century church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city. The square was for centuries home to the royal palace, establishing itself as a strategic and cultural centre. Although the original church was built in the 5th century, the structure we admire today is a 13th-century reconstruction. During our visit, we will delight in the stunning panoramic views of the old town and the famous bath district. We will also explore the Metekhi church and immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the king whose vision made Tbilisi the capital of Georgia.  

Narikala Fortress

Fortaleza Narikala Narikala Fortress, an iconic symbol of Tbilisi, has dominated the city skyline since the 4th century. This ancient citadel, originally Persian and later expanded by Arabs and Georgians, rises above a steep hill overlooking the Mtkvari river and the old town. Its imposing walls and towers have witnessed the many civilisations that have ruled Georgia, including the rebuilt Church of St Nicholas from the 12th century. During our visit, we will take the cable car up to the fortress, walk along its ancient defensive walls, and capture stunning panoramic views of Tbilisi as the sun sets over the city.  

Abanotubani

Abanotubani Abanotubani, the historic sulphurous bath district in the heart of old Tbilisi, represents the original nucleus where the Georgian capital was founded. Located on the right bank of the Mtkvari river, this neighbourhood is famous for its distinctive sulphur baths with brick domes emerging from the ground, witnesses to over 1,500 years of history. The natural thermal waters, which spring from the earth's depths, maintain a constant temperature of 37–40°C, and their healing properties have attracted illustrious visitors such as Alexander Pushkin and Alexandre Dumas. During our visit, we will wander through these streets of legendary thermal waters and lose ourselves in the picturesque medieval alleyways that wind between the baths, breathing in the most authentic essence of ancient Tbilisi.  

Anchiskhati

Anchiskhati The Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, stands as a vital testimony to Georgia's Christian history since the 6th century. Located in the heart of the old town, this sandstone church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, takes its name from the miraculous icon of Christ (Anchiskhati) it housed for centuries. Its typically Georgian three-nave basilica architecture is complemented by medieval frescoes and a 17th-century bell tower. During our exploration, we will soak in the mystical atmosphere of the temple, listen to the ancient Georgian polyphonic chants that still echo within its walls, and admire the craftsmanship of its traditional icons.  

Day 3 - Tbilisi - Davit Gareji - Signagui - Tbilisi

David Gareji

David Gareji The David Gareji Monastery, an extraordinary 6th-century rock-hewn monastic complex, is located in the arid border region between Georgia and Azerbaijan. Founded by the Assyrian monk David Garejeli, this sacred site comprises hundreds of cells, churches, chapels and refectories spread across multiple levels of the mountain, distinguished by unique medieval frescoes that blend Georgian and Byzantine styles. During our exploration, we will climb ancient trails to the upper caves, contemplate the impressive 11th- and 12th-century frescoes, and enjoy panoramic views of the semi-arid Gareji desert. Bodbe Monastery

Monasterio de Bodbe Bodbe Monastery, located in the Kakheti region, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Georgia, as it houses the tomb of St Nino, the missionary who brought Christianity to the country in the 4th century. This monastic complex, surrounded by century-old cypresses and lush gardens, combines architectural elements from the 9th and 17th centuries, featuring its three-nave basilica and traditional frescoes. During our visit, we will descend along the sacred path to St Nino's miraculous spring, take in the views of the Alazani valley, and experience the deep spirituality that permeates this holy place. Signagui

Signagui Signagui, known as the "City of Love", is a picturesque walled town set in the wine-growing region of Kakheti, at 790 metres above sea level. This 18th-century town, encircled by a 4-kilometre wall with 23 towers, offers stunning views of the Alazani valley and the Caucasus mountains. It is known for its traditional Georgian architecture, cobbled streets, and carved wooden balconies. During our visit, we will stroll through its romantic lanes, sample the famous Kakheti wines in traditional wineries, and watch the sunset over the valley from its ancient defensive walls. Day 4 - Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Kutaisi

Djvari - Monastery of the Cross

Djvari - Monasterio de la cruz Djvari Monastery, known as the "Monastery of the Cross", is an iconic religious site located near Mtskheta, Georgia, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 6th century atop a hill, this monastery offers stunning panoramic views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Considered a masterpiece of Georgian medieval architecture, it is a sacred place symbolising Georgia's adoption of Christianity. Svetitskhoveli

Svetitskhoveli Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, located in the ancient capital of Mtskheta, represents the spiritual heart of Georgia and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. This majestic 11th-century cathedral, built on the site where Christ's robe is said to be buried, is an extraordinary example of Georgian medieval architecture, with its tall decorated stone facade, central dome, and historic frescoes. During our exploration, we will uncover the many legends surrounding this sacred place, admire the extraordinary ecclesiastical architecture, and witness the ancient religious traditions that still live on in this spiritual centre. Uplistsikhe

Uplistsikhe Located in the Kartli region of central Georgia, Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn cave city dating back to the first millennium BC. This extraordinary archaeological complex, considered one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus, was an important religious and commercial centre on the historic Silk Road. Its architectural structures include pagan temples, Christian basilicas, and civic buildings that reflect the unique fusion of Christian and pagan styles. The city is notable for its network of streets, secret tunnels, and an exceptionally well-preserved Roman theatre. During our visit we will explore the ancient wine cellars, walk through rock-carved alleyways, and marvel at the panoramic views of the Mtkvari river from the top of this natural acropolis, transporting ourselves through over 3,000 years of Caucasian history. Stalin Museum

Museo de Stalin The Stalin Museum in Gori, the birthplace of the controversial Soviet leader, is one of the last museums in the world dedicated to Josef Stalin. The complex includes the original birthplace house, a Soviet palace-style building, and Stalin's personal railway carriage. The exhibition houses an extensive collection of personal objects, photographs, historical documents, and the dictator's original death mask. During our visit, we will explore the rooms documenting Stalin's life from his youth in Georgia to his Soviet leadership, examine his armoured luxury railway carriage, and reflect on the complex historical legacy he left in the region. Bagrati Cathedral

Catedral de Bagrati Dominating the Kutaisi skyline from Ukimerioni Hill, the majestic Bagrati Cathedral is a masterpiece of Georgian medieval architecture and a symbol of the country's Golden Age. Built during the reign of King Bagrat III in the 11th century, this Orthodox church exemplifies the grandeur of the classic Georgian architectural style with its characteristic central dome and elaborate stone reliefs. Although partially rebuilt in 2012, it retains its significance as one of Georgia's most important monuments and was part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. During our visit, we will take in the spectacular panoramic views of Kutaisi from its terraces, admire the architectural details that fuse ancient and modern elements, and experience the serenity of this sacred space that has witnessed over a thousand years of history. Gelati Academy

Academia de Gelati Gelati Academy, located in western Georgia near Kutaisi, is one of the most significant cultural centres of the medieval Caucasus. Its impressive frescoes, unique architecture, and the Royal Academy stand as testaments to the Georgian Golden Age. Prometheus Cave

In addition to the well-marked trails that allow visitors to explore its stunning interior landscapes, guests have the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful boat ride along the underground river running through the cave, providing a unique experience that highlights the natural and geological richness of the region. Visitors can enjoy boat rides along the Abasha river, explore scenic trails, and marvel at the unique rock formations and local legends associated with the place. Gonio Fortress

Fortaleza de Gonio Gonio Fortress, located near the Black Sea coast, a few kilometres from Batumi in Georgia, is a historically significant monument. Built in the Roman era, this fortification dates from the 1st century AD and is considered one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country. Famous for its defensive design and its connection to the Silk Road, Gonio also holds legends related to the tomb of the Apostle Matthew, making it a blend of history and myth. During our visit we will walk along its ancient walls, explore the archaeological museum, and uncover the mysteries and legends surrounding this fascinating destination on the Black Sea coast.

Day 8 - Batumi - Dendrological Park - Winery - Tbilisi

Shekvetili Dendrological Park

Parque dendrógico de Shekvetili Shekvetili Dendrological Park is located on the Black Sea coast in the Guria region of Georgia, representing one of the most innovative and modern botanical gardens in the Caucasus. This fascinating green space, opened in 2020, covers 60 hectares of land showcasing over 200 species of exotic plants arranged in different microclimates and themed environments. The park is distinguished by its state-of-the-art tropical greenhouse, Japanese gardens, and an impressive collection of giant bamboo and palm trees. During our tour, we will be amazed by the elevated walkways among the treetops, explore Georgia's largest hedge maze, and enjoy panoramic views from the observation tower that overlooks the entire botanical complex.  

Baia's Wine Winery

Bodega Baia´s wine In the heart of the Imereti wine region in Georgia, Baia's Wine Winery represents the perfect fusion of age-old tradition and modern winemaking. This family vineyard, run by the charismatic Baia Abuladze, has become a benchmark for natural wine production using the traditional Georgian method in qvevri (buried clay amphoras), a technique with 8,000 years of history recognised by UNESCO. Its organic vineyards cultivate native varieties such as Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, and Tsitska on mineral-rich soils. During our experience, we will take part in an intimate tasting of its exceptional natural wines, learn about the ancestral winemaking process in qvevri, and enjoy genuine Georgian hospitality accompanied by traditional dishes from Imereti.
