This itinerary has been designed to immerse you in the cultural, historical and natural richness of the Caucasus. The architecture of the ensemble fuses elements of the Shirvan-Absheron style with Persian and Islamic influences, distinguished by its intricate portals and delicate ornamental carvings. During our visit, we will explore the many chambers of the palace, admire the panoramic views of Baku Bay from its terraces and immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the Shirvanshahs through their ceremonial halls and archaeological exhibitions. Yanardag - State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve Yanardag, an impressive fire mountain located 27 kilometres from Baku in Azerbaijan, represents an extraordinary natural phenomenon where natural flames continuously emerge from a porous sandstone hillside. This eternal fire, which burns uninterruptedly thanks to natural gas seepages, has been an object of fascination for centuries and was one of the reasons why ancient Zoroastrians considered Azerbaijan a sacred land. The State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve protects this spectacular phenomenon that reaches up to 3 metres in height, becoming a living testimony to why Azerbaijan is known as the "Land of Fire". During our visit, we will gaze in amazement at the dancing flames against the night sky, listen to the gentle hiss of gas emerging from the earth and feel the mystical warmth of this perpetual fire that has captivated travellers and pilgrims for generations. Yashil BazarThe Yashil Bazar, also known as the Green Market, is one of the most vibrant and authentic traditional markets in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Located in the heart of the city, this bustling covered market has been for generations the epicentre of local trade in fresh produce. Its aisles house a dazzling variety of fruits, vegetables, aromatic spices, fresh herbs, dried fruits and the famous Azerbaijani pickles, all presented in the characteristic Caucasian style. The Soviet architecture of the building contrasts with the warmth and colour of the traditional stalls, where traders keep centuries-old commercial traditions alive. During our tour, we will immerse ourselves in a sensory feast of aromas and flavours, taste the delicious qurut (dried yoghurt), interact with the friendly local vendors and discover the secrets of the rich Azerbaijani gastronomy as we explore the lively aisles of this historic market. Khareba Winery in tunnel

Khareba Winery in tunnel Located in the heart of the Kakheti region, Khareba Winery stands out for its extraordinary system of tunnels excavated into the Caucasian mountain, stretching for more than 7.7 kilometres at a depth of 60 metres. Originally built during the Soviet era, this underground labyrinth maintains a constant natural temperature of 12–14°C, creating ideal conditions for wine ageing. The winery combines traditional Georgian winemaking methods in qvevri with modern technology, producing exceptional wines from indigenous varieties such as Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. During our visit, we will walk through the mysterious tunnels with torches in hand, learn about the 8,000 years of Georgian wine history and taste a select variety of wines while enjoying the local gastronomy. Alaverdi Monastery

Alaverdi Monastery The Alaverdi Monastery, situated in the Kakheti region of Georgia, is an impressive cathedral dating from the 6th century. This historical site was founded by the monk Joseph of Alaverdi and, in the 11th century, became one of the tallest churches in Georgia with its magnificent dome. Surrounded by vineyards, the monastery is also famous for its winemaking tradition, deeply connecting it with the culture of the region. Signagui

Signagui Signagui, known as the "City of Love", is a picturesque walled town situated in the wine region of Kakheti, at 790 metres above sea level. This 18th-century town, surrounded by a 4-kilometre wall with 23 towers, offers impressive views of the Alazani valley and the mountains of the Caucasus. It is distinguished by its traditional Georgian architecture, cobbled streets and carved wooden balconies. During our visit, we will stroll through its romantic alleyways, taste the famous Kakheti wines in traditional cellars and watch the sunset over the valley from its ancient defensive walls.  

Bodbe Monastery

Bodbe Monastery Bodbe Monastery, located in the region of Kakheti, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Georgia, as it houses the tomb of Saint Nino, the evangeliser who brought Christianity to the country in the 4th century. This monastic complex, surrounded by centuries-old cypresses and lush gardens, combines architectural elements from the 9th and 17th centuries, featuring its three-nave basilica and traditional frescoes. During our visit, we will descend along the sacred path to the miraculous spring of Saint Nino, contemplate the views of the Alazani valley and experience the deep spirituality that permeates this holy place.  

Day 7 - Tbilisi - Guided city tour

Rustaveli Avenue

Rustaveli Avenue Rustaveli Avenue, the main artery of Tbilisi, stretches for 1.5 kilometres from Freedom Square to Republic Square. This emblematic street, named after the medieval poet Shota Rustaveli, houses the city's most prestigious buildings, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera Theatre and the National Museum, all built in neoclassical and Art Nouveau style during the 19th century. During our stroll, we will enjoy the vibrant Georgian cultural life, pause at its elegant historic cafés and admire the monumental architecture while exploring the numerous shops and art galleries.  

Metekhi Square

Metekhi Square Metekhi Square, one of the most emblematic historical places in Tbilisi, stands atop a cliff with privileged views of the Mtkvari river. This landmark is dominated by the 13th-century church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city. The square was for centuries the home of the royal palace, consolidating itself as a strategic and cultural centre. Although the original church was built in the 5th century, the structure we can admire today is a 13th-century reconstruction. During our tour, we will delight in the impressive panoramic views of the old town and the famous bathhouse district. We will also explore the Metekhi church and immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the king who, with his vision, established Tbilisi as the capital of Georgia.  

Narikala Fortress

Narikala Fortress Narikala Fortress, an iconic symbol of Tbilisi, has dominated the city skyline since the 4th century. This ancient citadel, originally Persian and later expanded by Arabs and Georgians, rises above a steep hill with views of the Mtkvari river and the old town. Its imposing walls and towers have witnessed the various civilisations that have governed Georgia, including the reconstructed Church of Saint Nicholas from the 12th century. During our visit, we will ride the cable car up to the fortress, walk along its ancient defensive walls and capture stunning panoramic views of Tbilisi as the sun sets over the city.  

Abanotubani

Abanotubani Abanotubani, the historic sulphurous bathhouse district in the heart of old Tbilisi, represents the original nucleus where the Georgian capital was founded. Located on the right bank of the Mtkvari river, this neighbourhood is famous for its characteristic sulphur baths with brick domes emerging from the ground, bearing witness to more than 1,500 years of history. The natural thermal springs that bubble up from the earth's depths maintain a constant temperature of 37–40°C, and their healing properties have attracted illustrious visitors such as Alexander Pushkin and Alexandre Dumas. During our visit, we will immerse ourselves in the streets of these legendary thermal waters and lose ourselves among the picturesque medieval alleyways that wind between the bathhouses, breathing in the most authentic essence of ancient Tbilisi.  

Anchiskhati

Anchiskhati The Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, has been a vital testimony to Georgia's Christian history since the 6th century. Located in the heart of the old town, this sandstone church dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary takes its name from the miraculous icon of Christ (Anchiskhati) that it housed for centuries. Its typically Georgian three-nave basilica layout is complemented by medieval frescoes and a 17th-century bell tower. During our exploration, we will participate in the mystical atmosphere of the temple, listen to the ancient Georgian polyphonic chants that still resonate within its walls and admire the craftsmanship of its traditional icons.

This 13th-century architectural complex, which served as the seat of the eristavis (dukes) of Aragvi, combines defensive elements with extraordinary examples of Georgian religious architecture, featuring its main church with intricate stone reliefs and well-preserved frescoes. During our visit, we will explore the fortified towers, admire the panoramic views of the turquoise reservoir and discover the secrets of medieval Georgian architecture as we stroll through its ancient cobbled courtyards.  

Gergeti Trinity

Gergeti Trinity The Gergeti Trinity Church rises majestically at 2,170 metres altitude in the shadow of Mount Kazbegi (5,047m). This iconic 14th-century temple, situated in the historic region of Khevi, is one of the most recognisable symbols of Georgia, distinguished by its remote location and traditional Georgian architecture against the backdrop of the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus. During our excursion, we will ride in a 4x4 up the winding mountain road, explore the ancient monastic complex and contemplate the panoramic views of the surrounding glaciers and peaks.

During our exploration, we will discover the many legends surrounding this sacred place, admire the extraordinary ecclesiastical architecture and witness the ancient religious traditions that still live on in this spiritual centre. Uplistsikhe

Uplistsikhe Located in the Kartli region of central Georgia, Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn cave city dating from the first millennium BC. This extraordinary archaeological complex, considered one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus, was an important religious and commercial centre on the historic Silk Road. Its architectural structures include pagan temples, Christian basilicas and civic buildings that reflect the unique fusion of Christian and pagan styles. The city stands out for its street system, secret tunnels and an exceptionally well-preserved Roman theatre. During our visit we will explore the ancient wine cellars, walk through stone-carved alleyways and marvel at the panoramic views of the Mtkvari river from the top of this natural acropolis, transporting ourselves through more than 3,000 years of Caucasian history. Stalin Museum

Stalin Museum The Stalin Museum in Gori, birthplace of the controversial Soviet leader, represents one of the last museums dedicated to Josef Stalin in the world. The complex includes the original birthplace, a Soviet palace-style building and Stalin's personal railway carriage. The exhibition houses an extensive collection of personal objects, photographs, historical documents and the original death mask of the dictator. During our visit, we will explore the rooms documenting Stalin's life from his youth in Georgia to his Soviet leadership, examine his luxurious armoured railway carriage and reflect on the complex historical legacy he left in the region. Zvartnots Temple

Zvartnots Temple Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the majestic Zvartnots Temple was built in the 7th century near Echmiadzin, Armenia, representing the pinnacle of medieval Armenian architecture. This unique monument, whose name means 'Temple of the Watchful Angels', was distinguished by its innovative three-level circular design reaching 45 metres in height, setting new architectural standards in its era. Although now in ruins following its collapse in the 10th century due to an earthquake, its imposing remains, finely carved capitals and the pioneering use of arches and vaults demonstrate the sophistication of ancient Armenia. During our exploration, we will walk among the massive columns that once supported this architectural marvel, admire the delicate vine and pomegranate reliefs, and transport ourselves to the splendour of the ancient Kingdom of Armenia as Mount Ararat appears on the horizon. Oshakan

Oshakan Oshakan, located in the Aragatsotn region of Armenia, is a place of great cultural and spiritual significance, known as the final resting place of Mesrop Mashtots, creator of the Armenian alphabet. Its main church, dedicated to Saint Mesrop Mashtots and built in the 5th century, is an important pilgrimage site. Surrounded by vineyards and tranquil landscapes, Oshakan is a destination that combines history, faith and tradition in a charming setting. During our visit we will explore the historic church, learn about the invention of the Armenian alphabet and enjoy the serenity of this place filled with cultural symbolism. Amberd

Amberd Perched at 2,300 metres altitude on the slopes of Mount Aragats in Armenia, the Amberd fortress is an extraordinary 7th-century military structure that dominates the surrounding landscape with its imposing basalt walls. This "castle in the clouds" (the literal meaning of its name) represents a masterpiece of medieval Armenian military architecture, complemented by an 11th-century church and a sophisticated water supply system. During our visit, we will ascend along the ancient paths to the fortress, explore its mysterious ruins as the clouds pass around us and marvel at the impressive views of Mount Ararat and the Ararat valley stretching below us. Karmravor

  Karmravor, situated in the town of Ashtarak, Armenia, is a small but charming 7th-century church. Its name, meaning "red" in Armenian, comes from the original colour of its tiled roof. This architectural gem is known for its simple yet harmonious design, with a central dome and well-preserved stone walls, and has remained almost intact for centuries, standing out as a unique example of early Armenian ecclesiastical architecture. During our visit we will explore its historic interior, admire the delicacy of its construction and enjoy the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere that surrounds this fascinating place.

Amberd Fortress

Amberd Fortress, situated on the slopes of Mount Aragats in Armenia, is an impressive testimony to medieval architecture. Built in the 7th century, this fortress served as a strategic stronghold and noble residence, distinguished by its location at 2,300 metres above sea level. Surrounded by mountain landscapes and the Amberd river, it combines defensive structures, an 11th-century church and unique panoramic views that capture the essence of Armenian history. During our visit we will explore its ancient walls, walk through the remains of the church and enjoy the impressive views of the valley while reliving the rich history of this emblematic place.
