Gonio Fortress
Gonio Fortress, located near the Black Sea coast, a few kilometres from Batumi in Georgia, is a monument of great historical significance. Built in the Roman era, this fortification dates from the 1st century AD and is considered one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country. Famous for its defensive design and its connection to the Silk Road, Gonio also holds legends related to the tomb of Apostle Matthias, making this place a blend of history and myth.

This fascinating green space, inaugurated in 2020, covers 60 hectares of land displaying more than 200 species of exotic plants organised in different microclimates and themed environments. The park stands out for its state-of-the-art tropical greenhouse, its Japanese gardens and its impressive collection of giant bamboo and palm trees. During our tour, we will marvel at the elevated walkways through the tree canopies, explore Georgia's largest hedge maze and enjoy panoramic views from the observation tower overlooking the entire botanical complex.
