This is a journey through Georgia, a country full of millennia of history, dreamlike landscapes and a unique culture that will captivate you. This 9-day itinerary will take you from the vibrant capital, Tbilisi, to the most magical corners of the region. Each day is carefully designed for you to explore historic monasteries, ancient cities and spectacular natural landscapes, such as the impressive caves of Prometheus and the beautiful beaches of Batumi on the Black Sea. You will also enjoy the warm Georgian hospitality, with Spanish-speaking guided tours that will immerse you in the legends and traditions of this beautiful destination. You will begin with a guided tour of Tbilisi, discovering its medieval architecture and charming cobblestone streets. You will visit the ancient cave monastery of Davit Gareji and the wine region of Kakheti with Signagui and the Bodbe Monastery. The route then continues through Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia, the cave city of Uplistsikhe and Stalin's birthplace, Gori. In Kutaisi you will admire the Bagrati Cathedral, the Gelati Monastery and the Prometheus Caves, before exploring the coastal city of Batumi with its modern skyscrapers and historic Botanical Garden. The tour concludes with a visit to Shekvetili dendrological park and a traditional wine tasting at Baia's Wine.

Day 1 - Transfer from Tbilisi Airport to the capital

Day 2 - Tbilisi - Guided tour in Spanish

Rustaveli Avenue

Rustaveli Avenue Rustaveli Avenue, the main artery of Tbilisi, extends for 1.5 kilometres from Freedom Square to Republic Square. This emblematic street, named after the medieval poet Shota Rustaveli, is home to the most prestigious buildings in the city, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera Theatre and the National Museum, all built in neoclassical and Art Nouveau style during the 19th century. During our stroll, we will enjoy the vibrant Georgian cultural life, stop at its elegant historic cafés and admire the monumental architecture while exploring the numerous shops and art galleries.  

Metekhi Square

Metekhi Square Metekhi Square, one of the most emblematic historic sites in Tbilisi, rises above a cliff overlooking the Mtkvari river. This landmark is dominated by the 13th-century church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city. The square was for centuries the home of the royal palace, establishing itself as a strategic and cultural centre. Although the original church was built in the 5th century, the structure we see today is a 13th-century reconstruction. During our tour, we will enjoy impressive panoramic views of the old town and the famous baths district. We will also explore the Metekhi church and immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the king who established Tbilisi as the capital of Georgia.  

Narikala Fortress

Narikala Fortress Narikala Fortress, the iconic symbol of Tbilisi, has dominated the city's skyline since the 4th century. This ancient citadel, originally Persian and later expanded by Arabs and Georgians, rises above a steep hill overlooking the Mtkvari river and the old town. Its imposing walls and towers have witnessed the various civilisations that have ruled Georgia, including the rebuilt St Nicholas Church from the 12th century. During our visit, we will ascend by cable car to the fortress, walk along its ancient defensive walls and capture impressive panoramic views of Tbilisi as the sun sets over the city.  

Abanotubani

Abanotubani Abanotubani, the historic sulphur baths district in the heart of old Tbilisi, represents the original core where the Georgian capital was founded. Located on the right bank of the Mtkvari river, this neighbourhood is famous for its distinctive sulphur baths with brick domes emerging from the ground, witnesses to over 1500 years of history. The natural thermal springs that rise from the depths of the earth maintain a constant temperature of 37-40°C, and their healing properties have attracted illustrious visitors such as Alexander Pushkin and Alexandre Dumas. During our visit, we will wander through these streets of legendary thermal waters and get lost in the picturesque medieval lanes that wind between the baths, breathing in the most authentic essence of ancient Tbilisi.  

Anchiskhati

Anchiskhati Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, is a vital testimony to the Christian history of Georgia since the 6th century. Located in the heart of the old town, this sandstone church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, takes its name from the miraculous icon of Christ (Anchiskhati) that it housed for centuries. Its three-nave basilica architecture, typically Georgian, is complemented by medieval frescoes and a 17th-century bell tower. During our exploration, we will participate in the mystical atmosphere of the temple, listen to the ancient Georgian polyphonic chanting that still resonates in its walls and admire the craftsmanship of its traditional icons.  

Day 3 - Tbilisi - Davit Gareji - Signagui - Bodbe - Tbilisi

Davit Gareji

Davit Gareji The Davit Gareji Monastery, carved into the semi-arid Gareji desert, is one of the most impressive monastic complexes in Georgia. Founded in the 6th century by the monk David Garejeli, this monastery complex consists of more than 15 monasteries and hermitages carved into the rocks. It is world-famous for its unique frescoes, which represent important examples of medieval Georgian painting. During our visit, we will explore the cells and churches carved into the rock, admire the frescoes and enjoy the impressive semi-desert landscape that surrounds this extraordinary spiritual centre.

Signagui

Signagui Signagui, known as the "City of Love", is a picturesque walled town in the wine region of Kakheti, at 790 metres above sea level. This 18th-century city, surrounded by a 4-kilometre wall with 23 towers, offers impressive views of the Alazani valley and the mountains of the Caucasus. It is renowned for its traditional Georgian architecture, cobblestone streets and carved wooden balconies. During our visit, we will stroll through its romantic lanes, taste the famous Kakheti wines in traditional wineries and watch the sunset over the valley from its ancient defensive walls.  

Bodbe Monastery

Bodbe Monastery Bodbe Monastery, located in the region of Kakheti, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Georgia, as it houses the tomb of Saint Nino, the evangelist who brought Christianity to the country in the 4th century. This monastic complex, surrounded by centuries-old cypress trees and lush gardens, combines architectural elements from the 9th and 17th centuries, featuring its three-nave basilica and traditional frescoes. During our visit, we will descend the sacred path to the miraculous spring of Saint Nino, take in the views of the Alazani valley and experience the deep spirituality that permeates this holy place.  

Day 4 - Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Kutaisi

Djvari - Monastery of the Cross

Djvari - Monastery of the Cross The Djvari Monastery, known as the "Monastery of the Cross", is an iconic religious site located near Mtskheta, Georgia, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 6th century on a hilltop, this monastery offers impressive panoramic views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Considered a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture, it is a sacred place that symbolises the adoption of Christianity in Georgia. During our visit, we will explore its unique architectural design, enjoy the spectacular views and learn about its deep historical and spiritual significance. Road 13KM 0 Hours and 18 Minutes

Svetitskhoveli

Svetitskhoveli Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, located in the ancient capital of Mtskheta, represents the spiritual heart of Georgia and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. This majestic 11th-century cathedral, built on the site where Christ's robe is said to be buried, is an extraordinary example of medieval Georgian architecture, with its tall decorated stone facade, central dome and historic frescoes. During our exploration, we will discover the many legends surrounding this sacred place, admire the extraordinary ecclesiastical architecture and witness the ancient religious traditions that still live on in this spiritual centre. Uplistsikhe

Uplistsikhe Located in the Kartli region of central Georgia, Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn cave city dating from the first millennium BC. This extraordinary archaeological complex, considered one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus, was an important religious and commercial centre on the historic Silk Road. Its architectural structures include pagan temples, Christian basilicas and civic buildings that reflect the unique fusion of Christian and pagan styles. The city is notable for its street system, secret tunnels and an exceptionally well-preserved Roman theatre. During our visit we will explore the ancient wine cellars, walk through stone-carved lanes and marvel at the panoramic views of the Mtkvari river from the top of this natural acropolis, travelling through more than 3000 years of Caucasian history. Stalin Museum

Stalin Museum The Stalin Museum in Gori, the birthplace of the controversial Soviet leader, is one of the last museums in the world dedicated to Josef Stalin. The complex includes the original birthplace, a Soviet palace-style building and Stalin's personal railway carriage. The exhibition houses an extensive collection of personal objects, photographs, historical documents and the original death mask of the dictator. During our visit, we will explore the rooms that document Stalin's life from his youth in Georgia to his Soviet leadership, examine his luxurious armoured railway carriage and reflect on the complex historical legacy he left in the region. Bagrati Cathedral

Bagrati Cathedral Dominating the skyline of Kutaisi from the Ukimerioni hill, the majestic Bagrati Cathedral is a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture and a symbol of the country's Golden Age. Built during the reign of King Bagrat III in the 11th century, this Orthodox church exemplifies the grandeur of the classic Georgian architectural style with its distinctive central dome and elaborate stone reliefs. Although it was partially reconstructed in 2012, it retains its significance as one of the most important monuments in Georgia and was part of the UNESCO World Heritage. During our visit, we will take in the spectacular panoramic views of Kutaisi from its terraces, admire the architectural details that fuse ancient and modern elements, and experience the serenity of this sacred space that has witnessed over a thousand years of history. Gelati Academy

Gelati Academy The Gelati Academy, located in the western region of Georgia near Kutaisi, is one of the most significant cultural centres of the medieval Caucasus. This fortified monastery from the 12th century, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was an important centre of Georgian education and literature, where Christian and classical traditions converged. Its impressive frescoes, unique architecture and the Royal Academy stand out as testimonies of the Georgian Golden Age. During our visit, we will explore the majestic stone buildings and admire the intricate frescoes that decorate its walls, while immersing ourselves in the contemplative atmosphere that once inspired the greatest thinkers of the medieval Georgian kingdom. Prometheus Cave

Prometheus Cave Prometheus Cave, located near Kutaisi in Georgia, is one of the most impressive and extensive caves in the country, standing out as an important natural and tourist attraction. Discovered in 1984, this fascinating underground cavern offers a tour through spacious halls adorned with stalactites, stalagmites and spectacular rock formations that, thanks to careful lighting, create a magical and immersive atmosphere. In addition to the well-laid paths that allow exploration of its impressive interior landscapes, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful boat ride along the underground river that runs through the cave. During our visit, we will walk through its illuminated passages, marvelling at the formations sculpted by nature over centuries, and enjoy a boat ride that will allow us to immerse ourselves in the serenity and hidden beauty of this underground environment, making this an unforgettable experience.

Day 6 - Kutaisi - Okatse - Martvili - Batumi

Okatse Canyon

Okatse Canyon Okatse Canyon, located in the Imereti region of Georgia, is a natural wonder offering spectacular views of a deep gorge surrounded by lush vegetation. This impressive canyon, with a 700-metre suspended walkway, allows visitors to walk at height and enjoy panoramic views of waterfalls and the river flowing below. It is an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventurers. During our visit we will walk along the suspended walkway, admire the magnitude of the canyon and enjoy the unique connection with nature that this spectacular place offers.

Martvili Canyon

Martvili Canyon Martvili Canyon, located in the Samegrelo region of Georgia, is a natural wonder known for its turquoise waters and impressive waterfalls. This canyon, shaped by thousands of years of erosion, offers a dreamlike setting surrounded by lush vegetation. Visitors can enjoy boat rides along the Abasha river, explore scenic trails and marvel at the unique rock formations and local legends associated with the place. During our visit we will navigate its crystal-clear waters, walk among nature-surrounded paths and enjoy the serenity and incomparable beauty of Martvili Canyon.

Day 7 - Batumi - Gonio - Ethnographic Museum

Batumi

Batumi Located on the coast of the Black Sea, Batumi is the second largest city in Georgia and capital of the Adjara region, standing out as an important seaport and tourist destination in the Caucasus. This vibrant city combines a rich history dating back to the 4th century BC with a surprising contemporary architecture, where futuristic buildings intertwine with elegant 19th-century constructions. The Batumi Boulevard, a 7-kilometre seafront promenade, is the heart of the city, while its old town charms with cobblestone lanes and traditional Georgian balconies. During our visit, we will stroll along the lively seaside boulevard, enjoy Adjaran cuisine in traditional restaurants and marvel at the light and music spectacle of the Dancing Fountains.

Day 8 - Shekvetili Park - Baia's Wine - Tbilisi

Shekvetili Dendrological Park

Shekvetili Dendrological Park Shekvetili Dendrological Park is located on the coast of the Black Sea in the Guria region of Georgia, representing one of the most innovative and modern botanical gardens in the Caucasus. This fascinating green space, opened in 2020, covers 60 hectares where more than 200 species of exotic plants are displayed in different microclimates and themed environments. The park features a state-of-the-art tropical greenhouse, Japanese gardens and an impressive collection of giant bamboo and palm trees. During our tour, we will marvel at the elevated walkways through the treetops, explore the largest hedge maze in Georgia and enjoy panoramic views from the observation tower that overlooks the entire botanical complex.
