It is a 18-day adventure through Georgia and Armenia, two jewels of the Caucasus that captivate with their millennia-old history, dramatic landscapes and legendary hospitality. This complete journey will take you from the bustling streets of Tbilisi to the remote villages of Svaneti, from the Black Sea shores of Batumi to the ancient monasteries of Armenia. You will discover a region where the oldest Christian traditions are intertwined with Persian and Soviet influences, creating a cultural mosaic unique in the world.

The itinerary is carefully designed to offer you the most outstanding experiences of both countries: you will explore the ancestral wine cellars in Kakheti, marvel at the medieval frescoes of Gelati, ascend the defensive towers of Mestia, and contemplate the majestic Mount Ararat from Khor Virap monastery. Each day brings new discoveries, from the modern architecture of Batumi to the ancient cave monasteries of Vardzia, complemented by tastings of rich local gastronomy and genuine encounters with the hospitable people of the Caucasus.

Rustaveli Avenue

Avenida Rustaveli Rustaveli Avenue, the main artery of Tbilisi, stretches 1.5 kilometers from Freedom Square to Republic Square. This emblematic street, named after the medieval poet Shota Rustaveli, houses the most prestigious buildings in the city, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera House, and the National Museum, all built in neoclassical and Art Nouveau style during the 19th century. During our stroll, we will enjoy the vibrant Georgian cultural life, stop at its elegant historic cafés, and admire the monumental architecture while exploring the numerous shops and art galleries.

Metekhi Square

Plaza de Metekhi Metekhi Square, one of the most emblematic historic sites in Tbilisi, rises above a cliff with privileged views of the Mtkvari river. This landmark is dominated by the 13th-century church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city. The square was for centuries the home of the royal palace, establishing itself as a strategic and cultural center. Although the original church was built in the 5th century, the structure we can admire today is a 13th-century reconstruction. During our tour, we will delight in the impressive panoramic views of the old town and the famous baths district. We will also explore the Metekhi church and immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the king who, with his vision, established Tbilisi as the capital of Georgia.

Narikala Fortress

Fortaleza Narikala Narikala Fortress, the iconic symbol of Tbilisi, has dominated the city's skyline since the 4th century. This ancient citadel, originally Persian and later expanded by Arabs and Georgians, rises above a steep hill with views of the Mtkvari river and the old town. Its imposing walls and towers have witnessed the various civilizations that have ruled Georgia, including the reconstructed Church of St. Nicholas from the 12th century. During our visit, we will ascend by cable car to the fortress, walk along its ancient defensive walls, and capture impressive panoramic views of Tbilisi as the sun sets over the city.

Abanotubani

Abanotubani Abanotubani, the historic sulfur baths district in the heart of old Tbilisi, represents the original core where the Georgian capital was founded. Located on the right bank of the Mtkvari river, this neighborhood is famous for its characteristic sulfur baths with brick domes emerging from the ground, witnesses to more than 1,500 years of history. The natural thermal waters that spring from the earth maintain a constant temperature of 37-40°C, and their healing properties have attracted illustrious visitors such as Alexander Pushkin and Alexandre Dumas. During our visit, we will immerse ourselves in the streets of these legendary thermal waters and wander through the picturesque medieval alleys that wind between the baths, breathing the most authentic essence of old Tbilisi.  

Anchiskhati

Anchiskhati Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, represents a vital testament to Georgia's Christian history since the 6th century. Located in the heart of the old town, this sandstone church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, owes its name to the miraculous icon of Christ (Anchiskhati) it housed for centuries. Its typically Georgian three-nave basilical architecture is complemented by medieval frescoes and a 17th-century bell tower. During our exploration, we will participate in the mystical atmosphere of the temple, listen to the ancient Georgian polyphonic chants that still resound in its walls, and admire the craftsmanship of its traditional icons.

Alaverdi Monastery

Monasterio de Alaverdi Alaverdi Monastery, located in the Kakheti region of Georgia, is an impressive cathedral dating from the 6th century. This historic site was founded by the monk Joseph of Alaverdi and in the 11th century became one of the tallest churches in Georgia with its magnificent dome. Surrounded by vineyards, the monastery is also famous for its winemaking tradition, deeply connecting it with the culture of the region. During our visit we will explore the majestic cathedral, learn about its rich history, and enjoy the beauty of the vineyards surrounding this emblematic site in Kakheti. Nekresi Monastery

Khareba Tunnel Winery

Bodega Khareba en tunel Nestled in the heart of the Kakheti wine region, Khareba Winery stands out for its extraordinary tunnel system carved into the Caucasian mountain, extending over 7.7 kilometers at a depth of 60 meters. Originally built during the Soviet era, this underground labyrinth maintains a constant natural temperature of 12-14°C, creating ideal conditions for wine aging. The winery combines traditional Georgian winemaking methods in qvevri with modern technology, producing exceptional wines from native grape varieties such as Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. During our visit, we will walk the mysterious tunnels with torches in hand, learn about 8,000 years of Georgian wine history, and taste a select variety of wines while enjoying the local gastronomy. Signaghi

Signagui Signaghi, known as the "City of Love", is a picturesque walled town situated in the wine region of Kakheti, 790 meters above sea level. This 18th-century town, surrounded by a 4-kilometer wall with 23 towers, offers impressive views of the Alazani valley and the Caucasus mountains. It is distinguished by its traditional Georgian architecture, cobblestone streets and carved wooden balconies. During our visit, we will stroll through its romantic lanes, taste the famous Kakheti wines in traditional cellars, and watch the sunset over the valley from its ancient defensive walls.  

Bodbe Monastery

Monasterio de Bodbe Bodbe Monastery, located in the Kakheti region, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Georgia, as it houses the tomb of Saint Nino, the missionary who brought Christianity to the country in the 4th century. This monastic complex, surrounded by centuries-old cypress trees and lush gardens, combines architectural elements from the 9th and 17th centuries, featuring its three-nave basilica and traditional frescoes. During our visit, we will descend the sacred path to Saint Nino's miraculous spring, contemplate the views of the Alazani valley, and experience the deep spirituality that permeates this holy place.

Its architectural structures include pagan temples, Christian basilicas and civic buildings that reflect the unique fusion of Christian and pagan styles. The city is noted for its street system, secret tunnels, and an exceptionally well-preserved Roman theater. During our visit we will explore the ancient wine cellars, walk through stone-carved alleyways, and marvel at the panoramic views of the Mtkvari river from atop this natural acropolis, transporting ourselves through more than 3,000 years of Caucasian history. Stalin Museum

Museo de Stalin The Stalin Museum in Gori, birthplace of the controversial Soviet leader, is one of the last museums in the world dedicated to Josef Stalin. The complex includes the original birthplace, a Soviet palace-style building, and Stalin's personal railway carriage. The exhibition houses an extensive collection of personal objects, photographs, historical documents, and the original death mask of the dictator. During our visit, we will explore the halls documenting Stalin's life from his youth in Georgia to his Soviet leadership, examine his luxurious armored railway carriage, and reflect on the complex historical legacy he left in the region. Ushguli Nestled at 2,200 meters above sea level, Ushguli stands out as one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe, located in the remote Svaneti region of Georgia. This ensemble of medieval villages, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, captivates with its more than 20 defensive stone towers from the 12th century, characteristic symbols of Svan architecture that rise majestically against the backdrop of Mount Shkhara, Georgia's highest peak. Chalaadi Glacier

Gonio Fortress

Built in the Roman era, this fortification dates from the 1st century AD and is considered one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country. Baia´s wine Winery

Bodega Baia´s wine In the heart of the Imereti wine region in Georgia, Baia's Wine Winery represents the perfect fusion between millennia-old tradition and modern winemaking. This family winery, managed by the charismatic Baia Abuladze, has become a reference for the production of natural wines using the traditional Georgian method in qvevri (buried clay amphoras), a technique with 8,000 years of history recognized by UNESCO. Its organic vineyards cultivate native varieties such as Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, and Tsitska in mineral-rich soils. During our experience, we will participate in an intimate tasting of its exceptional natural wines, learn about the ancestral qvevri winemaking process, and enjoy authentic Georgian hospitality accompanied by traditional dishes from Imereti.  

Borjomi

Bordjomi Nestled in the picturesque Mtkvari valley of central Georgia, Borjomi is a legendary thermal destination recognized worldwide for its healing mineral waters, which spring naturally warm from the depths of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. This elegant spa town, which reached its peak during the Russian tsarist era of the 19th century, preserves magnificent mansions of imperial architecture and extensive historic parks. Its mineral water, bottled since 1890, is considered a Georgian national treasure and has been appreciated for centuries for its medicinal properties. During our stay, we will stroll through the romantic Mineral Park, taste the thermal waters directly from the historic springs, and explore the pristine trails of the national park, one of the largest in Europe.  

Day 13 - Akhaltsikhe - Vardzia - Khertvisi - Bavra - Gyumri

Vardzia

Vardzia Carved into the vertical wall of Mount Erusheli, Vardzia emerges as an impressive 12th-century rock-cut monastery-city, symbol of the cultural peak of medieval Georgia during the reign of Queen Tamar. This monastic complex extends for 500 meters and reaches up to 19 levels in height, housing more than 600 rooms including churches, wine cellars, libraries, and an intricate system of tunnels and irrigation. The site is especially notable for the Church of the Dormition, which preserves exceptional 12th-century frescoes, including a famous portrait of Queen Tamar. During our exploration, we will walk through the tunnels and secret staircases connecting the different chambers, discover ancient wine cellars, and marvel at the medieval frescoes that have survived earthquakes and centuries of history in this architectural gem carved in rock.

Paseo por Gyumri Gyumri, Armenia's second largest city, sits on the fertile plain of Shirak, standing out as a cultural and historical treasure reflecting the country's rich heritage. This ancient city, formerly known as Alexandropol and Leninakan, preserves an impressive collection of 19th-century architecture in its distinctive black tuf stone style, having survived devastating earthquakes that have marked its history. The historic center, known as Kumayri, captivates with its cobblestone streets, stately buildings, and the magnificent Church of the Holy Apostles. During our stroll through its historic streets, we will explore the lively local markets, taste the authentic Shirak cuisine in traditional restaurants, and immerse ourselves in the vibrant artistic atmosphere that has made Gyumri Armenia's cultural center.

Dilijan

Diliján Known as the "Little Switzerland of Armenia", Dilijan is a charming spa town located in the Tavush province in northern Armenia. Surrounded by the dense forested mountains of Dilijan National Park, covering more than 24,000 hectares of lush nature, this historic town is distinguished by its traditional Armenian architecture, with 19th-century wooden and stone houses lining its winding streets. These carefully preserved buildings display the characteristic carved balconies and ornate windows that reflect the region's rich artisanal tradition. The town has been for centuries an important cultural and healing center, famous for its curative mineral waters and its pure mountain air, attracting artists, composers and writers in search of inspiration. Dilijan's unique microclimate, characterized by cool summers and mild winters, together with its well-known bicarbonate- and calcium-rich mineral springs, has made the town a preferred destination for health tourism since the Soviet era. During our stay, we will stroll through the picturesque restored old town, where every corner tells a story of traditional Armenia, taste the famous local mineral waters at historic fountains, and venture along forest trails leading to centuries-old monasteries. The well-marked paths of the National Park offer routes for all levels, from gentle walks to challenging mountain hikes, allowing us to experience the perfect fusion of nature and Armenian culture. We will also have the opportunity to visit local craft workshops, where master artisans continue to practice traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Garni

Garni Garni, located in the Kotayk region of Armenia, is an iconic destination known for its 1st-century pagan temple, unique in the South Caucasus. Surrounded by impressive landscapes, including the Azat River gorge and the famous "Symphony of Stones", Garni combines history, culture and nature in a spectacular setting. Geghard

Geghard Geghard, located in the Kotayk region of Armenia, is a medieval monastery declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its name, meaning "monastery of the spear", relates to the relic said to have pierced Christ's side. Surrounded by mountain landscapes and a mystical atmosphere, Geghard is a symbol of Armenian spirituality. During our visit we will walk through its rock-carved chapels, admire the intricate engravings, and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings while discovering its deep history and significance. Echmiadzin

Echmiadzin Echmiadzin, known as the Holy See of the Armenian Apostolic Church, is one of Armenia's most sacred cities. Located in the Armavir region, it houses the Echmiadzin Cathedral, considered the world's oldest Christian church, built in the 4th century. This important spiritual and cultural center features impressive architecture and a rich heritage, reflecting Armenia's deep Christian history. It is a must-visit destination for lovers of history and religion. During our visit, we will explore the majestic cathedral, discover religious treasures, and immerse ourselves in the sacred atmosphere of this unique place.  

Zvartnots Temple

Templo Zvartnots Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the majestic Zvartnots Temple was built in the 7th century near Echmiadzin, Armenia, representing the pinnacle of medieval Armenian architecture. This unique monument, whose name means 'Temple of the Celestial Angels', was noted for its innovative three-tiered circular design reaching 45 meters in height, setting new architectural standards for its era. Though today in ruins after its collapse in the 10th century due to an earthquake, its imposing remains, finely carved capitals, and pioneering use of arches and vaults demonstrate the sophistication of ancient Armenia. During our exploration, we will walk among the massive columns that once supported this architectural marvel, admire the delicate reliefs of vines and pomegranates, and transport ourselves to the splendor of the ancient Kingdom of Armenia while Mount Ararat is sketched on the horizon.  

Day 17 - Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Areni Cave - Yerevan

During our visit we will explore the ancient underground cells, admire the impressive view of Mount Ararat, and discover the history that makes Khor Virap a sacred and unforgettable place. Noravank Monastery
