It is an unforgettable adventure through Georgia, a country where history, culture and nature are intertwined in a magical way. Over 8 days, you will discover spectacular landscapes and historic monuments while exploring from the lively streets of Tbilisi to the peaceful monasteries nestled in the mountains. This itinerary will take you to the Davit Gareji Monastery, the vineyards of Sighnaghi, the majestic Gergeti church with its mountain backdrop and the captivating cave city of Uplistsikhe. Every day will be a new opportunity to immerse yourself in the cultural and natural richness of Georgia!

You will begin your experience in the vibrant Tbilisi with a guided tour in Spanish to discover its unique architecture and charming streets. From there, you will explore gems like Sighnaghi, the "City of Love", the monasteries of Gelati and Bagrati, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the impressive caves of Vardzia. You will also enjoy the natural beauty of Borjomi National Park and the mountain landscapes of Gudauri. With this itinerary, you are guaranteed a perfect blend of culture, history and unforgettable landscapes, all accompanied by warm Georgian hospitality.

Day 1 - Transfer from Tbilisi Airport to the capital

Rustaveli Avenue

Avenida Rustaveli Rustaveli Avenue, the main artery of Tbilisi, stretches for 1.5 kilometres from Freedom Square to Republic Square. This emblematic street, named after the medieval poet Shota Rustaveli, houses the city's most prestigious buildings, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Opera Theatre and the National Museum, all built in neoclassical and Art Nouveau style during the 19th century. During our walk, we will enjoy the vibrant Georgian cultural life, stop at its elegant historic cafés and admire the monumental architecture while exploring the numerous shops and art galleries.

Metekhi Square

Plaza de Metekhi Metekhi Square, one of the most emblematic historic places in Tbilisi, rises above a cliff with privileged views of the Mtkvari river. This landmark is dominated by the 13th-century church and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city. The square was for centuries the home of the royal palace, establishing itself as a strategic and cultural centre. Although the original church was built in the 5th century, the structure we can admire today is a 13th-century reconstruction. During our tour, we will delight in the impressive panoramic views of the old town and the famous bath district. We will also explore the Metekhi church and immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of the king who, with his vision, established Tbilisi as the capital of Georgia, forging one of the most representative places of Georgian heritage.

Narikala Fortress

Fortaleza Narikala Narikala Fortress, the iconic symbol of Tbilisi, has dominated the city's skyline since the 4th century. This ancient citadel, originally Persian and later expanded by Arabs and Georgians, rises on a steep hill overlooking the Mtkvari river and the old town. Its imposing walls and towers have witnessed the various civilisations that have ruled Georgia, including the reconstructed Church of St Nicholas from the 12th century. During our visit, we will ascend to the fortress by cable car, walk along its ancient defensive walls and capture impressive panoramic views of Tbilisi as the sun sets over the city.

Abanotubani

Abanotubani Abanotubani, the historic sulphur bath district in the heart of old Tbilisi, represents the original core where the Georgian capital was founded. Located on the right bank of the Mtkvari river, this neighbourhood is famous for its characteristic sulphur baths with brick domes emerging from the ground, bearing witness to more than 1,500 years of history. The natural thermal springs that bubble up from the depths of the earth maintain a constant temperature of 37-40°C, and their healing properties have attracted illustrious visitors such as Alexander Pushkin and Alexandre Dumas. During our visit, we will immerse ourselves in these streets of legendary thermal waters and get lost in the picturesque medieval alleyways that wind between the baths, breathing in the most authentic essence of old Tbilisi.  

Anchiskhati

Anchiskhati The Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, represents a vital testimony of Georgia's Christian history since the 6th century. Located in the heart of the old town, this sandstone church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, owes its name to the miraculous icon of Christ (Anchiskhati) that it housed for centuries. Its three-nave basilica architecture, typically Georgian, is complemented by medieval frescoes and a 17th-century bell tower. During our exploration, we will participate in the mystical atmosphere of the temple, listen to the ancient Georgian polyphonic chants that still resonate within its walls and admire the craftsmanship of its traditional icons.  

Day 3 - Tbilisi - Davit Gareji - Sighnaghi - Telavi

David Gareji

David Gareji The Davit Gareji Monastery, an extraordinary rock-hewn monastic complex from the 6th century, is located in the arid border region between Georgia and Azerbaijan. Founded by the Assyrian monk David Garejeli, this sacred place comprises hundreds of cells, churches, chapels and refectories distributed across multiple levels of the mountain, distinguished by its unique medieval frescoes combining Georgian and Byzantine styles. During our exploration, we will ascend via ancient paths to the upper caves, contemplate the impressive 11th and 12th-century frescoes, and enjoy panoramic views of the semi-arid Gareji desert. Bodbe Monastery

Monasterio de Bodbe Bodbe Monastery, located in the region of Kakheti, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Georgia, as it houses the tomb of Saint Nino, the evangeliser who brought Christianity to the country in the 4th century. This monastic complex, surrounded by century-old cypresses and lush gardens, combines architectural elements from the 9th and 17th centuries, distinguished by its three-nave basilica and traditional frescoes. During our visit, we will descend the sacred path to Saint Nino's miraculous spring, contemplate the views of the Alazani valley and experience the deep spirituality that permeates this holy place. Sighnaghi

Signagui Sighnaghi, known as the "City of Love", is a picturesque walled town situated in the wine region of Kakheti, at 790 metres above sea level. This 18th-century city, surrounded by a 4-kilometre wall with 23 towers, offers impressive views of the Alazani valley and the Caucasus mountains. It is distinguished by its traditional Georgian architecture, cobbled streets and carved wooden balconies. During our visit, we will stroll through its romantic alleyways, taste the famous wines of Kakheti in traditional wine cellars and contemplate the sunset over the valley from its ancient defensive walls. Alaverdi Monastery

Monasterio de Alaverdi Alaverdi Monastery, situated in the Kakheti region of Georgia, is an impressive cathedral dating from the 6th century. This historic site was founded by the monk Joseph of Alaverdi and, in the 11th century, became one of the tallest churches in Georgia with its magnificent dome. Surrounded by vineyards, the monastery is also famous for its winemaking tradition, which connects it deeply with the culture of the region. During our visit we will explore the majestic cathedral, learn about its rich history and enjoy the beauty of the vineyards that surround this emblematic place in Kakheti. Ananuri

Ananuri Ananuri, an impressive medieval fortress located 66 kilometres from Tbilisi, rises majestically over the Zhinvali reservoir on the historic Georgian Military Highway. This 13th-century architectural complex, which served as the seat of the Eristavi (dukes) of Aragvi, combines defensive elements with extraordinary examples of Georgian religious architecture, distinguished by its main church with intricate stone reliefs and well-preserved frescoes. During our visit, we will explore the fortified towers, admire the panoramic views of the turquoise reservoir and discover the secrets of medieval Georgian architecture as we stroll through its ancient cobbled courtyards. Gergeti Trinity Church

Trinidad de Gergeti The Gergeti Trinity Church stands majestically at 2,170 metres in altitude beneath the shadow of Mount Kazbegi (5,047m). This iconic 14th-century temple, located in the historic region of Khevi, represents one of Georgia's most recognisable symbols, distinguished by its remote location and traditional Georgian architecture against the backdrop of the snow-capped Caucasus mountains. During our excursion, we will ascend by 4x4 along the winding mountain road, explore the ancient monastic complex and contemplate panoramic views of the glaciers and surrounding peaks.

Day 5 - Gudauri - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Kutaisi

Uplistsikhe

Uplistsikhe Located in the Kartli region of central Georgia, Uplistsikhe is an ancient cave city carved into rock dating from the first millennium BC. This extraordinary archaeological complex, considered one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus, was an important religious and commercial centre on the historic Silk Road. Its architectural structures include pagan temples, Christian basilicas and civil buildings that reflect the unique fusion of Christian and pagan styles. The city is distinguished by its street system, secret tunnels and an exceptionally well-preserved Roman theatre. During our visit we will explore the ancient wine cellars, walk through alleyways carved in stone and marvel at the panoramic views of the Mtkvari river from atop this natural acropolis, transporting us through more than 3,000 years of Caucasian history.  

Stalin Museum

Museo de Stalin The Stalin Museum in Gori, the birthplace of the controversial Soviet leader, represents one of the last museums dedicated to Josef Stalin in the world. The complex includes the original birthplace, a Soviet palace-style building and Stalin's personal railway carriage. The exhibition houses an extensive collection of personal objects, photographs, historical documents and the original death mask of the dictator. During our visit, we will explore the rooms documenting Stalin's life from his youth in Georgia to his Soviet leadership, examine his luxurious armoured railway carriage and reflect on the complex historical legacy he left in the region.  

Day 6 - Kutaisi - Bagrati - Gelati - Prometheus Cave - Borjomi-Akhaltsikhe

Bagrati Cathedral

Catedral de Bagrati Dominating the skyline of Kutaisi from Ukimerioni hill, the majestic Bagrati Cathedral represents a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture and a symbol of the country's Golden Age. Built during the reign of King Bagrat III in the 11th century, this Orthodox church exemplifies the grandeur of the classical Georgian architectural style with its characteristic central dome and elaborate stone reliefs. Although partially reconstructed in 2012, it retains its significance as one of Georgia's most important monuments and was part of the UNESCO World Heritage. During our visit, we will contemplate the spectacular panoramic views of Kutaisi from its terraces, admire the architectural details that fuse ancient and modern elements, and experience the serenity of this sacred space that has witnessed more than a thousand years of history. Gelati Academy

Academia de Gelati The Gelati Academy, located in the western region of Georgia near Kutaisi, represents one of the most significant cultural centres of the medieval Caucasus. This 12th-century fortified monastery, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was an important centre of Georgian education and literature, where Christian and classical traditions converged. Its impressive frescoes, unique architecture and the Royal Academy stand out as testimonies of the Georgian Golden Age. During our visit, we will explore the majestic stone buildings and admire the intricate frescoes that decorate its walls, while immersing ourselves in the contemplative atmosphere that once inspired the greatest thinkers of the medieval Georgian kingdom. The Prometheus Cave

La cueva de Prometeus The Prometheus Cave, located near Kutaisi in Georgia, is one of the most impressive and extensive caves in the country, standing out as an important natural and tourist attraction. Discovered in 1984, this fascinating underground cavern offers a tour through vast halls adorned with stalactites, stalagmites and spectacular rock formations that, thanks to careful lighting, create a magical and immersive atmosphere. In addition to the well-marked paths that allow exploration of its impressive interior landscapes, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful boat ride along the underground river that flows through the cave, providing a unique experience that highlights the natural and geological richness of the region. During our visit, we will walk through its illuminated passageways, marvelling at the formations sculpted by nature over centuries, and enjoy a boat ride that allows us to immerse ourselves in the serenity and hidden beauty of this underground environment. Borjomi

Bordjomi Nestled in the picturesque Mtkvari valley in central Georgia, Borjomi is a legendary thermal resort world-renowned for its healing mineral waters, which spring naturally hot from the depths of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. This elegant spa town, which reached its peak during the Russian tsarist era of the 19th century, preserves magnificent mansions of imperial architecture and extensive historic parks. Its mineral water, bottled since 1890, is considered a Georgian national treasure and has been prized for centuries for its medicinal properties. During our stay, we will stroll through the romantic Mineral Park, taste the thermal waters directly from the historic springs and explore the pristine trails of the national park, one of the largest in Europe. Day 7 - Akhaltsikhe - Vardzia - Khertvisi - Tbilisi

Vardzia

Vardzia Carved into the vertical wall of Mount Erusheli, Vardzia emerges as an impressive 12th-century rock monastery city, symbol of the cultural peak of medieval Georgia during the reign of Queen Tamar. This monastic complex extends over 500 metres and reaches up to 19 levels in height, housing more than 600 rooms including churches, wine cellars, libraries and an intricate system of tunnels and irrigation. The site is particularly distinguished by the Church of the Dormition, which preserves exceptional 12th-century frescoes, including a famous portrait of Queen Tamar. During our exploration, we will walk through the tunnels and secret staircases that connect the different chambers, discover ancient wine cellars, and marvel at the medieval frescoes that have survived earthquakes and centuries of history in this architectural jewel carved into the rock.

Khertvisi Fortress

Fortaleza Khertvisi Khertvisi Fortress, situated in the Samtskhe-Javakheti valley of Georgia, is one of the oldest fortresses in the country, with origins dating back to the 2nd century BC. Strategically located at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Paravani rivers, it was an important defence during the medieval era and a key point on the Silk Road. Its imposing walls, towers and panoramic views of the valley make it a symbol of the historical resistance of the region. During our visit we will explore the well-preserved structures, climb the towers to admire the landscape and immerse ourselves in the stories that make Khertvisi a place full of charm and history.
