History and technical details

The Ferris Wheel was inaugurated in 2014 as part of infrastructure investments ahead of the 2015 Baku European Games. At over 60 metres tall, it ranks among the world's highest Ferris wheels. It has 30 fully air-conditioned cabins with large panoramic windows, allowing visitors to enjoy the views without feeling the Azerbaijani summer heat.

Views from the Ferris Wheel

From the top of the wheel you can simultaneously see Baku's ultra-modern skyline —with the Flame Towers as the main feature—, the historic Old City declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bulvar promenade along the Caspian, and the hills of Martyrs' Lane. It is the most complete vantage point for understanding Baku's historic and modern duality.

Night-time illumination

At dusk, the Ferris Wheel becomes one of the most photogenic elements of the Baku skyline. Its multicolour LED lighting system changes patterns and colours, occasionally synchronising with the displays of the Flame Towers, creating a unique visual spectacle.

Getting there and prices

The Ferris Wheel sits on the Baku Bulvar, the city's seafront promenade, easily reachable on foot from the historic centre. The price of a full ride is affordable (around 5–8 AZN). It is particularly recommended at sunset to capture both daylight views and the night-time illumination.
