Founder of Destino Cáucaso
Aleksandre ("Alex") Berikashvili is Georgian, lives in Tbilisi and is the founder and director of Destino Cáucaso, a local tour operator specialising in tailor-made trips across Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He has worked in Caucasus tourism since 2016 and has been organising trips across the three countries since 2018. He speaks Georgian, Spanish, English and Russian, and has personally travelled every itinerary he sells: from the towers of Svaneti to the monasteries of Armenia and the fire temples of Azerbaijan. He designs the routes, guides groups himself and personally answers travellers' enquiries.
Every article on this blog is written or reviewed by him and by the local Destino Cáucaso team: Georgians, Armenians and Azerbaijanis who live in the region and keep the information current with what they see on the ground.
